After a long illness, Margaret Tutko, 96 years of age, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2022, at her sister’s home in Ledgewood, New Jersey, where she had been recuperating after her last hospitalization and rehabilitation.

Born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, Margaret attended public elementary school and West Side High School. Following graduation, Marge was employed by the Office of Dependency Benefits in Newark. She subsequently held a bookkeeping position with a dress manufacturer and later was employed by Western Electric in Kearney for several years. Eventually, she earned her license as a beautician. Her last place of employment was Antonio’s Hair Salon in Livingston before her retirement in 1999.

Marge is predeceased by her parents, Rose (Marino) and Michael Mascera, her brother,Anthony Mascera, her husband, John Tutko and her son-in-law, Walter Patla. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Lisa Patla, her cherished granddaughters, Angelica and Gabriela Patla, her dear sister, Sister Jo Mascera, S.S.C., her loving aunt, Marie Scialfa, several cousins and her special friends, Dylan, Larry, Ruth, and Bobbi, as well as the sweet family puppy, Koa.

Marge’s family wishes to acknowledge with gratitude the loving care provided for her by Josie and Eugenie during the past four months of her life.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Saint Therese Church, 151 Main Street, Succasunna, New Jersey 07876 at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 2, 2022.
