Theresa Mary Viera (nee Orlando) passed July 13, 2022 at the age of 94. Born in Brooklyn, NY to Emil and Louise Orlando.
Terry previously resided on Long Island and Stevens Point Wisconsin before moving to Parsippany in 1965.
Terry is survived by her children, Michael and his wife Janet, Susan and husband Matt. Four grandchildren: Mark Viera and wife, Katie, Craig Viera and wife Megan, Kimberly Berk (nee
DeGrosky) and husband, Matt and Alexander DeGrosky.
She is also survived by siblings Mary Orlando, Louise Kloenne, Doris Erdmann and husband Dick, James Orlando and wife Michelle and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother Emil Orlando.
Ever active in her community and church, Terry was an active parishioner of St. Christopher Church and involved with the CCD program and women’s society. She also served as board member and PTA president of Littleton School PTA, vice president and chairperson of Brooklawn Jr. High PTA and scholarship chairperson of Parsippany HIlls High School PTA, Trustee of Brooklawn Civic Association, and board member and chairperson of Parsippany-Troy Hills Board of Adjustment.
For more than 20 years, she was employed by Family Intervention Services. Assisting in the day to day operations of the organization while coordinating food drives, clothing drives, back-to-school programs and more.
Annually collecting thousands of meals, including hundreds of holiday turkeys and gifts, household necessities and clothing for families in need.
Relatives and Friends are invited to attend her Liturgy of Christian Burial to be offered at 9:30a.m. at Saint Christopher R.C. Church, 1050 Littleton Road, Parsippany. on Monday, July 25, 2022. Interment: Holy Rood Cemetery, Morristown. Visiting hours are on Sunday July 24, 2022 from 2:00-4:00pm. at the Par-Troy Funeral Home. 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany.
