Ronald A. Krystofiak, Sr. (Ron) passed away on Saturday, July 9th at Merry Heart in Succasunna after battling a long illness. He was 84.

Ron was born and raised in Irvington and Linden, NJ prior to moving his family to Parsippany and Rockaway.

Ron worked in the trucking industry for over 40 years. He began his career at Navajo Freight Lines in Carlstadt where he worked with his dad. He retired from ABF Trucking in Pine Brook. He knew the meaning of working hard and instilled this value in his children.

Ron also served with the Army National Guard. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 91, Wharton, NJ.

His hobbies included working on cars. He especially enjoyed attending car shows with his extended family and being a member of two car clubs.

Survivors include his loving wife Paula (nee Zitelli) of 61 years; his daughter Laurie A McDermott and her husband Matthew; his sons Ronald A, Jr and Philip and his wife Jo; his brother Gary and his four grandchildren Brian, Sara, Mackenzie and Kyra. He also leaves behind his nieces, nephews, cousins and neighbors who often lent him a hand. Ron is pre-deceased by two brothers, Ken and Jerry.

Visitation will be Friday, July 15th from 5:00 pm – 8:00pm at the Par-Troy Funeral Home, 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany (973) 887-3235. Services will be held at the funeral home at 10:00 am Saturday, July 16th followed by a graveside service at Gates of Heaven Cemetery, 225 Ridgedale Ave, East Hanover.
