Marilyn J. (nee-Johnson) Tobias passed away on Tuesday June 28, 2022 at Morristown Medical Center. She was 94.

Marilyn Johnson Tobias was born on July 12, 1927 in Providence, Rhode Island. Her family moved several times in New England and the Midwest during her childhood before settling in Teaneck, New Jersey, where she graduated from High School.

Marilyn attended Skidmore College and upon graduation in 1949 moved to New York City where she had a successful career as a buyer for Mercantile corporation.

She married Alfred Tobias in January, 1960 and moved to Tenafly, New Jersey, where they lived for 25 years, raising their son Glenn and daughter Anne.

While in Tenafly, Marilyn earned her Masters degree in education and became an acclaimed elementary school teacher for over 20 years.

After retiring from her teaching career, Marilyn and Alfred moved to Washington Township, living there until 2009, when they moved in with their daughter, Anne and husband James Patracuolla in Boonton Township, where she lived until passing.

She is pre-deceased by her late husband, Alfred, who passed away on January 28, 2016.

Survivors include: her son Glenn and his wife Laura; her daughter Anne Patracuolla and her husband James; her grandchildren: Nicole Minnich, Christina Tripucka and her husband Jake, Frank, Alexa, and Graham, and her two great-grandchildren: Declan & Quinn Minnich.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service on Saturday July 2, 2022 from 1:00pm-3:00pm at the Par-Troy Funeral Home 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany (973) 887-3235. Cremation: Private.
