Obituaries » Mary 'Maura' (nee-Donnellan) Moore

Mary “Maura” Teresa Moore, 79, of Wildwood Crest, NJ, formerly of Parsippany, passed away on December 23, 2021.

Born in Co. Clare, Ireland, Maura moved to the United States in 1959, at the age of 17. She worked as a legal secretary on Wall Street before becoming a full time homemaker after
marrying the love of her life, Gerry Moore, and settling in Parsippany.

She was particularly proud of her Irish heritage, having her daughters enroll in Irish dancing from a young age at the Friel School of Irish Dancing, where she was a member of the parent’s association, followed by supporting her granddaughter at the Mullan Davis Academy of Irish Dance, where she could be seen giving competitor numbers out at the annual feis.

She was also a member of the Giblin Association, the Cryan Association, the Irish American Association of Northwest Jersey, and St. Brendan’s Gaelic Football Club, where she served as secretary for many years.

She lived a life full of laughter (including playing many a trick on her children and then grandchildren!), loved spending time down the shore with her family, gardening, and cooking.

Maura was predeceased by her father, Patrick Donnellan, and mother, Margaret Fitzpatrick Donnellan; and loving husband of 54 years, Gerry Moore.

She is survived by her sister, Christina Vaughan, and her husband, Martin; sister, Eileen Roughan, and her husband, Tom; sister, Patricia Leyden, and her husband, Patrick; sister, Anne Kimball, and her husband, Rick; sister, Geraldine Darcy, and her husband, Michael; daughters, Mary, and her husband, Jeremiah Fealy; Margaret Suppa, and her husband, Luke; sons, Joseph Moore, and his wife, Kathleen; Gerard Moore, and his wife, Rosemary; and her grandchildren, Brianna, Conor, Colleen, Annie, Luke, Kyra, Julia, Ronan, Colin, and Emma.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 8:30am from the Par-Troy Funeral Home, 95 Parsippany Rd., Parsippany, NJ, 07054. (973)887-3235 or visit
