Obituaries » Mary Ann (nee-Prudente) McDonald

Mary Ann (nee-Prudente) McDonald passed away at the age of 79 after a long illness.

Mary Ann was the oldest of five children born to Michael Joseph Prudente and Sophie Mary (nee-Tinus) Prudente. She grew up and lived most of her life in Morris County, graduating from Morristown High School in 1959.

Mary Ann spent nearly 40 years as the headmaster’s secretary at The Peck School in Morristown, retiring in 2002. Both in her job and life in general, she was a friend to every child and animal she met. Friends will recall how all the kids and dogs would run to the door to greet her enthusiastically whenever she visited. She had a generous heart and never arrived without bearing gifts.

Mary Ann, called Sissy by family, was predeceased by her beloved son, James Rory McDonald, in 2007.

She is survived by her sisters, Patricia Regeic of Morris Plains and Linda Prudente; her brothers, Joseph Prudente (Dot) of Port Richey, Florida and Kenneth Prudente (DeeDee); as well as nieces, Josie Del Duca (Dan) of Ardmore, PA and Marcy Cahill (Jake) of Morris Plains, NJ, and many great nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Mass at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 27th 2021 at the Church of the Assumption. 91 Maple Avenue, Morristown, N.J. 07960. Interment will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of the Par-Troy Funeral Home, Parsippany, New Jersey.
