Christina (nee-Novak) Azares passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 19th 2018 at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. She was 33. She had been diagnosed with brain cancer (grade 4 glioblastoma) on October 12th, 2016 and faced it with the dignity and strength that few could.

Christina was born in South Korea on October 12th 1984, came to the United States in 1985 and was adopted by loving parents William and Patricia Novak. She was a resident of Lake Hiawatha and Parsippany for the past 33 years. Christina was a loving mother and wife, making it a point to celebrate every occasion and being there for all the important moments in life. She loved planning family parties and vacations.

Christina was dedicated, self-driven, and tireless in everything that she did. She graduated with highest honors from Montclair State University in 3 years. Working at UPS for the past 12 years, Christina became one of the youngest Managers there and became an integral member of the CIM team. Prior to UPS, Christina was also a Tae-kwon-do instructor with a second degree black belt.

Christina was a member of St. Christopher R.C. Church in Parsippany and also gave back to her community by taking part in many annual United Way fundraisers. Even in treatment, she made it a point to raise funds and contribute to the Overlook Foundation in support of the Neurological Institute at Overlook Hospital.

She was pre-deceased by her father, William E. Novak who passed away on October 31, 2014.

She is survived by her husband, Michael; her daughter, Cate; her mother, Patricia Novak; her brother, Michael Novak; and both her father & mother-in-law, George and Loida Azares.

Christina will be deeply missed by the many family and friends she touched.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Liturgy of Christian Burial to be offered at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 26th 2018 at St. Christopher R.C. Church. 1050 Littleton Road, Parsippany. Cremation: Private. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday Evening from 5-8 p.m. at the Par-Troy Funeral Home. 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany.
