Veronica A. “Ronnie” (nee-Bleitzhofer) McDonald passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Brakeley Park Center in Phillipsburg. She was 93 years old.

Veronica was born and raised in Weehawken. She lived in Ridgefield Park, Parsippany and Toms River before moving to The Chelsea in Belvidere in 2016 then to Brakeley.

Veronica was a Key Punch Operator for Whitehead Brothers in East Hanover for many years before retiring.

She was an extremely independent woman who lived on her own till she was 90 years old often driving her older friends to church or a movie. She was a lifelong NY Yankee fan.

She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Silver Park Ridge First Aid Squad and Silver Park Ridge Garden Club. She loved to dance and as a former member of the Line Dance Club entertained at Veterans Hospitals and nursing homes. As a member of the Woman’s Auxiliary of the Tom River VFW she was awarded an Accommodation of Service for selling Poppies for over seventy years starting as a child with her Grandmother in the streets of Weehawkin.
We loved her spirited sense of humor; she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was predeceased by her husband, John J. (7/26/1996), her son, Kevin J. (8/2/1979) and her daughter, Dianne (10/15/1999).

Survivors include her sons: Buddy and his wife, Nancy, Jack J. and his wife, Merry & Tom and his wife, Judy; her brothers: Joseph and John Bleitzhofer; her 2 granddaughters, her 4 grandsons and 4 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Liturgy of Christian Burial to be offered at 10:00 am on Friday, April 6, 2018 at Saint Christopher R.C. Church. 1050 Littleton Road, Parsippany.
