Elinor (nee-Gibbons) Gormley passed away with dignity and grace with her daughters by her side on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the Villa at Florham Park. She was 80 years old.

Elinor was born in Scranton, PA and grew up in Bloomfield, NJ. She married the love of her life, James Gormley and together, raised their family in Montville, NJ. She moved to Spring Lake, NJ to enjoy golf, sun, sand and retirement.

Elinor worked for the Morris Township Police Department as a Records Clerk for many years.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, James A., who passed away on April 26, 2010.

Survivors include her daughters: Kathleen Stahl and her husband, Michael; Susan Hegarty and her husband, Michael; Jamie Gormley; Sally Dreyer and her husband, Russell; Maureen Gormley and her fiancé, Wayne Linn; her sisters: Mary Jacqueline Roby, Frances DeSales Sullivan and Jeanne Marie Meehan; her grandchildren: Michael Stahl, Jr. and his wife, Amy; Erin (Stahl) Kiefer and her husband, Jake; Kristen Stahl and her fiancé, Thomas Cacciabeve; Sean Hegarty; Maggie Hegarty; Kelsey Dreyer; Ryan Dreyer and Brendan Dreyer. Elinor is also survived by her great-grandson, Alexander James Stahl and her many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Liturgy of Christian Burial to be offered on Monday, March 12, 2018 at 10:00am at Saint Pius the X R.C. Church. 24 Changebridge Road, Montville.
