DATELINE: Ledgewood

Albert Onori, Age 87, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Morris View Healthcare Center in Morris Township.

In 1930, Al was born to Luciano and Rosina (nee-Gentile) Onori in Newark and was raised in the Ironbound Section of Newark.

In 1970, Al lived with his beloved wife, Marie and their daughter, Michelle for many years at Richfield Village Apts in Clifton.

In 2014, Al moved to Ester Gitlow Senior Housing in Suffern NY and shortly after moved to Lakeside Senior Housing in Ledgewood.

Al proudly served his country in 1951 with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and as a National Guard Army Reservist.

He was an office expeditor for Otis Elevator for 20 years and later worked for Citicorp in Woodcliff Lake as a document proof reader before retiring.

Al loved Ballroom Dancing and was known for his quick feet throughout NY and NJ at many dance competitions.

He was also a member of Parents without Partners where he met many beautiful people.

Albert was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marie (nee-Botte) on 6/12/1980; his brothers: Dominick & Patrick; and his grandson, Gavin Robert De Mayo on 12/4/1995.

Survivors include his loving daughter, Michelle A. De Mayo and her husband Gary Robert of Stanhope; his two cherished grandchildren who were his pride and joy: Gary Albert and Garrison Robert; Al also had many fond nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 7:30pm at the Par-Troy Funeral Home. 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany.
