Charles F. Snyder, 78, passed away, peacefully, on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 from complications of Lewy Body Dementia.

Charles was born in Newark and moved to Lake Hiawatha in 1966.

Charles worked for The Eastwood Neally Co. before joining the Parsippany Police Dept. in 1967. Where in 1974 Detective Charles was awarded the first medal of Commendation for Exceptional Performance of Duty and Professionalism. He retired a Lieutenant, in 1991, after 25 years of dedicated service to the men he worked with.

He was an exceptional, hardworking family man, always putting family first.

Charles enjoyed photography. Always carrying a camera, setting the shot, and snapping the pictures.

He will be missed dearly.

Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Jeanne (nee-Pruden) Snyder; his beloved daughters, Theresa Snyder and Sue VanVoorhis and her husband Tom VanVoorhis; he was also a proud grandfather, leaving behind his much loved grandchildren, Krystal Polite, and her husband Dave Polite, Christina Martin, George Karagiannis and Gearht VanVoorhis and his two great-grandchildren David and Eva Polite.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 7:30 pm on Monday, January 29, 2018 at the Par-Troy Funeral Home. 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany. (973) 887 – 3235 or visit Cremation: Private. Visiting hours will be Monday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 pm ONLY at the Funeral Home.
