Samuel Ben-Asher passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown. He was 98 years old.

Samuel was born in Brooklyn, New York and grew up in Newark. He lived in West Caldwell and Monroe Township before moving to Morris Plains.

He served in the United States Army during World War II as a Staff Sergeant from May 15, 1942 until being honorably discharged on January 7, 1946.

Samuel was a proprietor for 46 years at Twin Method Cleaners in Verona before retiring in 1982.

His favorite pastimes were playing golf, traveling and dancing.

He was predeceased by his granddaughter Rachel and his brothers Jerry and Lou.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille (nee-Goldberg); his sons: Howard (Marilyn), Stephen and Richard (Rita); his grandchildren: Mitchell Ben-Asher, Bridget Whelan (Thomas Finnegan), Deanna Dolendi & David M. Dolendi (Shannon) great-granddaughters: Krystal Kaiser and Ariella Dolendi.

Visitation will be Wednesday, January 17 from 3:00 – 5:00 pm at Par-Troy Funeral Home, 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany. (973) 887 – 3235 or visit

Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Service on Thursday, January 18 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment: East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton.
