DATELINE: Pine Brook

Robert A. DeLuca, age 67, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville.

He was born in Paterson. Robert spent his early years in Montville and moved to San Francisco in 1980 where he has a trucking business for 12 years. He returned to Montville with his family in 1992.

Robert had a passion for cars especially his very well known “El Camino”. He was a self-employed mechanic in Pine Brook.

He was very proud of his committed and loyal dedication to his NA 12-step fellowship for 27 years. Robert was a firm believer in giving back throughout the years, he lead many meetings, sponsored many people and was also, a mentor, to many.

Those who really knew Robert will remember him as a unique individual. He was an “enigma” with a generous heart and a beautiful soul.

Survivors include his loving daughter, Sharetta DeLuca of Boonton; his brother, Gary of Ann Arbor, MI; his sister, Michele Elias of Towaco; and his two cherished grandsons: Josiah Black Chaplain III and Elijah Robert Ayton.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Mass on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle RC Church, 179 Baldwin Rd., Parsippany.
