Charles R. Deeks, Jr passed away on Monday, November 27, 2017 at Englewood Hospital & Medical Center in Englewood City. He was 79.
Chick was born in East Orange and lived in Nutley for many years before moving to Parsippany in 1998.
He graduated from Nutley high school in 1956 and went on to honorably serve his country in the Merchant Marines on oil tankers and the Army Reserves.
In 1980, Chick started his business, Clover Insurance in Totowa. He then moved the business to Parsippany where he cooperated the business for the past 19 years.
Chick was a member of the Insurance Association of New Jersey and the Parsippany United Methodist Church. He was also a longtime member of the men’s bowling league in Clifton and most recently in Boonton.
Affectionately known as Coach Chick, he was an assistant soccer coach for the Parsippany soccer club where he enjoyed coaching his granddaughter for the past six years.
Chick was predeceased by his son, Hughie (1994) and his brother, Arthur D. Sr., his parents, Charles R. Deeks Sr. and Isabella L Deeks.
Survivors include his son Eric Charles Deeks and his wife Jana: his daughter, Amy L. Deeks-Bramley and her husband, Brian; his son: Matthew & his wife, Marcie; his sister, Marilyn Krause; his 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 3:00 pm on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Parsippany United Methodist Church. 903 South Beverwyck Road, Parsippany.
