Margaret “Margie” Eva Deo (nee-Russoman) Gorzelnik passed away on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Daughters of Israel in West Orange. She was 83.
Margie was born and raised in Newark before moving to West Orange in 1968 where she lived for 49 years.
She was professional singer and a restaurant owner for many years.
Margie was a CCD teacher and she was a loving and caring Nana to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph.
Survivors include her son, Leonard “Len” Deo and his wife, Andrea; her daughters: Linda Perna and her husband, Anthony and Valerie Lemme and her husband, Thomas; her sister, Edith Striglia; her 7 grandchildren: Nicolette Perna, Toni Lynn Rodriguez and her husband, Giovanni, Joseph Perna and his wife, Christina, Gregory Deo and his wife, Katie, Donna Graney and her husband, Brian, Jeannie Lynn Deo, and Jared Lichtman and her 9 great-grandchildren: Gianna and Anthony Rodriguez, Anthony Perna, Jackson and Carly Ann Deo, Brianna and Izabella Graney & Julia Rose and Joshua Katz.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral at 9:00 am on Monday, November 27, 2017 at the Par-Troy Funeral Home. 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany. With the Liturgy of Christian Burial to be offered at 10:00 am at St. Ann R.C. Church. 781 Smith Road, Parsippany. Interment: Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover. Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 4:00 – 8:00 pm at the Funeral Home.
