Dateline: Basking Ridge

Frank Mares who was born in 1932, in Porici nad. Sazavou, Czechoslovakia, passed away peacefully at home on November 11, 2017. He was a devout Catholic who was an active communicant at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Whippany and St. James Church in Basking Ridge. Frank resided in Whippany from 1972 until 2011 working as a Director/Senior Research Chemist at Allied Signal Chemical Corporation/Honeywell in Morris Township, NJ until his retirement.

Frank was predeceased by his parents Antonin and Anna Mares, by his twin brother Stanislav Mares, and in 2010 by his beloved first wife of 52 years Jirina Mares.

In 2011, Frank married his second wife Jeanine Carr and relocated to Basking Ridge. He is survived by Jeanine Carr and his children, Marie Alwell and Peter Mares with their spouses and his 3 grandchildren. Frank is also survived by four step-children, Kristin Devaux, John Carr, James Carr and Sandra Kennedy with their spouses and his 7 step-grandchildren. He was adored by whomever he touched but especially by all of his grandchildren and step-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Liturgy of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Chapel, 70 Whippany Rd, Whippany. Interment: St. Mary’s Cemetery, Whippany. Visitation will be on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Par-Troy Funeral Home, 95 Parsippany Rd. Parsippany.
