Peter Lawrence Pennella, Beloved father, son and brother went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, October 24th 2017 at the age of 76.
Born on August 25, 1941, Peter Lawrence was the darling first born son of Dominick and Irene (Fulginitti) Pennella. He was the older brother of Penny (Elizabeth) Pennella and Dr. Mary Grace Pennella.
Pete grew up in Harrison, NJ and was active in Boy Scouts with his Dad. At age 11, he was awarded the Heroism Award for saving a young neighbor from electrocution. Pete graduated from Queen of Peace High School and followed in his Dad’s footsteps to become a carpenter. He was a member of Carpenters Union Local 620 in Madison.
Pete married Pam (Gacser) in 1964 and they settled in Lake Hiawatha where he had his own general contractor business.
Pete was an outdoorsman and he loved to hunt and shoot his entire life especially at his farm. Pete greatly enjoyed being a volunteer. He was a lifelong volunteer with Lake Hiawatha Fire Department District 4, served at Jacksonville Chapel, played Santa, took Mission trips and also was a foreman for Habitat for Humanity.
He was a loving father to daughters: Donna, Pam, Jennifer and Annette, and grandfather to: Samantha, Jacob, Valerie, Logan, Kyle, Dylan and Evan. He also treated his 3 son-in-laws, Gus Lara, George Vongas and Joel McIlwain as his sons. Pete loved his family incredibly and will be greatly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. from Par-Troy Funeral Home. 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany, 973-887-3235 or www.partroyfuneralhome.com. Interment: George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 12 noon- 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
