Obituaries » Imelda A. (nee-Alonso) Carin

Dateline: Lake Hiawatha

Imelda A. (nee-Alonso) Carin passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 13, 2017 at her home. She was 79.

She was born and raised in the Philippines. Imelda came to the United States in 1967 where she settled in California. She also lived in Boston, MA, and Nutley, NJ before moving to Lake Hiawatha in 2006.

Imelda was self-employed family physician in Brooklyn for many years before retiring.  She never was concerned about the pay, and worked only to help people.  Often times, she would take payment in the form of food or objects, and offered her services freely when visiting the Philippines.  Many of her patients would travel for miles just to visit with her, and even after she retired, they were requesting for her to come back.

As an extremely devout Catholic, she would go to church on a daily basis when she was able to.  She found joy in her pilgrimages or traveling to various holy places or shrines throughout the world.  She always stressed the importance of God in one’s life, and she delivered that message to everyone she met.

Survivors include her loving husband of 52 years: Lino; her son: Anthony and his wife Marie; her daughters: Rosalyn Ramos and her husband Miguel; Dorothy Carin-Foley and her husband James; and Josephine Craig and her husband Justin; her two brothers & two sisters;  and her five Grandchildren: Emily, Lucas, Ignacio, Bella, and Fatima.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Liturgy of Christian Burial 9:30 am on Saturday September 23, 2017 at Saint Peter the Apostle Church 179 Baldwin Road Parsippany. Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visitation will be on Friday from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at the Par-Troy Funeral Home 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany (973) 887-3235. In lieu of flowers please make donations in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 300 Memphis, TN 38148
