Obituaries » Thomas Kevin McKeen
Thomas Kevin McKeen of Parsippany, New Jersey passed away in Mesa, Arizona on August 28, 2017.
He was born April 10, 1956 in Billings, Montana and grew up in Littleton, Colorado. He always considered himself a Colorado native and a lifelong Denver Broncos fan. He was a Cherry Creek High School class of 1974 graduate, who went on to earn his BA degree in business from the University of Phoenix.
He started his career with retailer JC Penney in Phoenix, Arizona. Later, he would go to work for American Express, where he started as a customer service telephone representative and worked his way up to Senior Manager of Operations, and enjoyed a 30 year career with the company. His transfer from the Phoenix operations center to the New York City corporate offices, brought his family to Parsippany, New Jersey in 1989.
Tom was an Order of the Arrow Eagle Scout who grew up camping and fly fishing, but his true passion was photography. The 2001-2005 Parsippany Hills High School Vikings varsity football teams will remember him as the “dad on the field with the camera” – who captured awesome live action photos which were printed and shared each week with the team. Eventually, those photos would work their way into the scrapbooks made for the senior players.
The true joy in his life came from his two children; Mark Thomas McKeen and Carrie Lynn McKeen, who are a living testament of Tom’s kindness, compassion and love.
He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas B. McKeen and Marilyn (Miller) McKeen. He is survived by his beloved son, Mark McKeen, daughter-in-law Cristina Dungo McKeen, and grandpup Loki; his beloved daughter Carrie McKeen, her fiancé Jason Kral, grand kitties Dora and Chloe; his former wife Nancy Lynd McKeen, and his brother Michael V. McKeen of Denver, Colorado.
Please join the family for visitation and remembrance on Saturday, September 16 from 2:00 – 5:00 pm at the Par-Troy Funeral Home. 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany.
