Lois Jorgensen Kelshaw, 91, died peacefully on July 31, 2017 at Troy Hills Center in Parsippany, NJ after a long illness.
Born in Morristown, NJ on May 26, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mildred Jorgensen. Lois was the wife of John “Jack” Kelshaw, who predeceased her in 1989, the sister of Charles Jorgensen, who predeceased her in 2012, and the aunt of Jane Marie Kavanagh, who predeceased her in 2011.
Lois was a graduate of Morristown High School and a longtime resident of Lake Parsippany, NJ, where she was an active member of the Parsippany United Methodist Church. She was a former President of the United Methodist Women’s Group, a past choir member, and most recently the “Hospitality” spokesperson for the church. She also enjoyed working for Dr. Marias in Parsippany for 10 years as his bookkeeper as well as his dental receptionist.
Lois is survived by her nieces and nephews: Mary Lou Lloyd of Ringoes, NJ, Timothy Jorgensen of Rockville, MD & Alvah Kelshaw of Branchville, NJ and Nancy Jean Duremus of Neptune, NJ; her ten grand nieces and nephews ~ Gregory Lloyd, Caroline Lloyd, Matthew Jorgensen, Anna Jorgensen, Christine Kavanagh, Mary Kate Kavanagh, Franklin Duremus, Amy Duremus, Justin Duremus, & Christal Duremus; and her sister-in-law, Marion Jorgensen.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service at 11:30a.m. on Friday, August 4th 2017 at the Parsippany United Methodist Church. 903 South Beverwyck Road, Parsippany, NJ 07054. Interment: Evergreen Cemetery, Morristown, NJ. Visiting hours are on Friday morning prior to the service from 9:30-11:30 am at the church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her memory to the Parsippany United Methodist Church.
