Obituaries » Jay L. Kotzen
Jay Lawrence Kotzen, 56, passed away on July 17, 2017 after a year long battle with cancer with his loving sisters and longtime girlfriend by his side. He is survived by sisters Tammy Kotzen and her fiancé Richie Cagnoni; Robyn Malcolm and her partner Janet Mueller, longtime love Laurie O’Hara, son Skylar Kotzen and niece Crystal Kotzen.
Jay was an avid sports fan and spent many years umping men’s and women’s softball leagues in the Morris County area, most recently working the Parsippany women’s league. He was known by all for his great sense of humor, quick wit and unending smile behind the plate. He will be sorely missed on and off the field.
He will most be remembered, however, for his strength, attitude and courage during his battle with cancer, documenting every step of his journey and exhibiting his “never give up” credo, even in his most difficult moments. He was an inspiration to so many, near and far, even those that never even met him in person. He will leave a lasting legacy for the battle he fought and the way he faced his greatest fears.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service 5:00pm – 8:00pm on Tuesday July 25, 2017 at the Par-Troy Funeral Home 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany. Cremation Private. On behalf of his entire family, we thank you all for your love and support. It meant more to him than you will ever know.
