Obituaries » Catherine (nee-Yanik) Maluk
Catherine Maluk, 99, of Parsippany, was called home by God on July 16, 2017 to spend eternity with her beloved husband, John Maluk, Sr. who passed away on December 20, 1980.
Born Catherine Yanik on February 14, 1918, she moved to Lake Parsippany in 1940 and lived in the same neighborhood for the past 77 years.
Catherine lived a beautiful and faithful life, completely focused on her family, her friends and neighbors, her home, the birds and all of the wildlife surrounding her home. She was the devoted mother of five children, grandmother of 12, great grandmother of 23 and great great grandmother of one. It’s no surprise that Catherine was born on Saint — Valentine’s Day; everyone who ever met her, loved her, and she loved them. She was kind, sweet, compassionate and never said a bad word about anyone. And, because she had a photographic memory no one could match, she was a great storyteller, right to the very end.
Catherine was predeceased by her adoring husband John Maluk Sr., son Andy Maluk, son-in-law Stephen Yanavok, sister Helen Clark, and brother-in-law Malhan Clark.
Catherine is survived by: her son, John Maluk Jr. and wife Linda of Rockaway; her daughter Mary Payack and husband Walter of Fort Plains, NY; her daughter Elizabeth Yanavok of Parsippany; and daughter Cathy Haider and husband Thomas of Vernon, NJ. In addition, Catherine leaves behind all of her grandchildren, many relatives and friends to cherish her memory forever.
