Eleanor (nee-Gosztyla) Minner passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Chilton Medical Center in Pompton Plains. She was 90.

Eleanor was born and raised in Newark. She lived in Cedar Knolls for 45 years before moving to Pompton Plains in 2017.

Eleanor graduated from East Side High School in Newark. She began her career as a keypunch operator with Prudential Insurance Co. in Newark and was quickly promoted to Assistant Supervisor in the Keypunch Department.

She was a loving mother to her family and was always there for them. Eleanor was also a devoted caregiver for her mother and mother-in-law, making sure they were lovingly cared for as they grew older.

She was a member of the Rosary Society at Notre Dame of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church and enjoyed singing in the Choir.

Eleanor is predeceased by her husband, Vincent; her daughter, Marie Minner; her brother, Edward Gosztyla and her sister, Alice Ferner.

Survivors include her son, Martin “Marty” Minner and her brother, Albert Gosztyla and his wife, Glenda.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Eleanor’s Liturgy of Christian Burial as well as a Memorial Mass celebrating Vincent’s life on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 10:00a.m. at Notre Dame of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church. 75 Ridgedale Ave., Cedar Knolls, NJ 07927. (Live streaming of the mass will be available at Interment: Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
