Richard E. Vogt passed away on Monday October 11, 2021 at Sunrise of Morris Plains. He was 82.

He was born and raised in Bloomfield. In 1962, he married the love of his life, Cynthia Anne (nee Hall), and they settled in Whippany where they raised their family and lived for 56 years until her passing in 2018.

Richard served his country proudly with the United States Army. He worked hard for his family and was a regional sales representative for Sunbelt Supply in Houston, Texas for many years. Richard loved sports – especially the New York Yankees. A former member of the Forest Hill Field Club and Picatinny Arsenal Golf Club, he was an avid golfer. He loved the Jersey Shore, boating and fishing. His greatest joys were as a spectator for his grandchildren’s many events – from the stage to the fields, he loved every minute of it. For many years, Richard was involved with the Morris Hills Dog Training Club where he volunteered as a dog trainer.

Survivors include his sons: Michael R. and his wife Crista; Brian H. and his wife Dawn; his brother Ken and his wife Brenda; his sister Gloria Fulton; his grandchildren: Andrew & his wife Marcy; Thomas and his wife Samantha; Brianna, and Bryce; and his great-granddaughter, Margo. He is also survived by his niece and nephews and many good friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Saturday October 16, 2021 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm at the Par-Troy Funeral Home 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany (973) 887-3235 or visit us at Cremation: Private.
