James Joseph Golden passed away peacefully on Saturday August 28, 2021 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was 78.
James was born in Passaic and grew up in Belleville. He lived in Nutley with his wife, Betty Ann before they moved to Rockaway in January of 1972.
James proudly served his country in the United State Marines Corps during the Vietnam Era from June of 1964 until being honorably discharged in June of 1970.
He enjoyed a career in law enforcement with the New Jersey Highway Patrol and New Jersey State Police, retiring from the NJSP at the rank of Lieutenant, and as Station Commander of the Hope Barracks, in Hope, NJ.
James was a member of the New Jersey State Police Former Troopers Association and the American Legion in Rockaway.
He is pre-deceased by his sister, Jeanne Cappo as well as his mother and father, Lillian and James Golden.
Survivors include his loving wife, Betty Ann (nee-Varrone); his son and daughter-in-law, James N. and Laureen; and his two grandchildren Jimmy & Carlie.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral on Friday, September 3, 2021 at 8:30a.m. from the Par-Troy Funeral Home. 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany.
