It is with a heavy heart that I inform you of my father’s passing, He passed on Saturday August 21, 2021 at approximately 10:45pm.

Victor N. Khubani was a husband for 65 years, father of 4 sons and grandfather of 14 and great grandfather of 4.

He lived an incredible life.

Born in the northwestern region of India in 1932, he and his family lived a happy prosperous life until the great separation of India and Pakistan in 1947. Over 2 million Hindus were slaughtered for observing the wrong religion in the wrong place. Being a Hindu family in a new intolerant Muslim country, they fled for their lives to southwest India as refugees where he, his parents and brothers and sisters all lived in a 10×10 room on a dirt floor.

In 1958, after getting a visa for the United States, he travelled to San Francisco by boat and then by train to New York City. He lived at the YMCA and got a job cleaning tables and mopping floors at a restaurant chain for $40 a week.

He progressed rather rapidly throughout his life eventually settling in Lincoln Park, New Jersey and owning a string of businesses from importing to restaurants, car dealerships and real estate.

He was a brilliant businessman and a very tough yet loving father. He was a pillar of strength in my life and my mentor. I loved him deeply and will miss him.

Survivors include his wife: Padma (nee-Jashnani); his sons: Azad; Ajit and his wife Poonam; Ashok and his wife Anita; Anand and his wife Neeta; his brothers: Chandru and his wife Sundri; Nari and his wife Soni; Partab and his wife Geeta; and his sisters: Mira, Chandra, and Jamna; Victor is also survived by his fourteen grandchildren, and his four great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Thursday August 26, 2021 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm & Friday from 9:00am – 11:00am at the Par-Troy Funeral Home 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany (973) 887-3235. Cremation: Private.
