James F. Grish Jr. (Jimmy) passed away On Saturday, March 6, 2021. He was 55.

Jimmy was born August 2, 1965, the first-born child of Camille (DiStefano) Grish and Jim Grish Sr.

He was raised in Boonton, NJ, attended John Hill Grammar School and Boonton High School (Class of 1983). As a young man he worked for the New Jersey Fireman’s Home in Boonton, NJ and at a stationary store in Morristown, NJ.

He later became an accomplished house painter eventually starting his own company, JFG Painting.

He and Anne Grey married in 1998.

Jimmy had a passion for all things rock and roll, particularly classic rock bands such as the Grateful Dead, Led Zeppelin and The Doors.

He loved to “rock out” to music, and you could find him dancing and singing to a favorite tune at almost any time. He loved sports, especially watching football and baseball games. He was a very avid reader and loved WWII and Russian history.

Jimmy was nicknamed “the favorite” by his family because of his infectious smile and charismatic personality. He made friends wherever he went, was loved by everyone, and often had groups of friends surrounding him. He had a great sense of humor, was gifted with intelligence and wit, and was just plain fun to be with.

He was optimistic in his character and rarely complained even during the difficult times and hardship he faced in life.

He will be greatly missed by many.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his wife Anne, mother Camille, father, James Sr., and his grandparents.

He is survived by his sister Carolyn Grish-Verduyn, brother Bill Grish, uncle Arthur DiStefano, cousin David Grish, stepchildren Jessica and Dusty Brown as well as many other loving relatives and friends.
