Obituaries » Gina M. Mascolo

Gina Marie Mascolo, of Newton, N.J., departed too soon leaving this world on Saturday, February 27, 2021.

Gina was born November 23, 1969 in East Orange, N.J., growing up in Morris County and attending school in Roxbury Township.

She is survived by her father Nicholas Mascolo, Sr. of Ledgewood, her mother Donna Ricciardelli Mascolo of Toms River, her brother Nicholas Mascolo, Jr. of Marlton and his wife Amy Knorr Mascolo, her nephew Nicholas Mascolo, III, her nieces Alyson Mascolo and Danielle Mascolo, her sister Christina Mascolo of Point Pleasant and her fiance Rick Trani of Point Pleasant. Gina is also survived by her many aunts, uncles and cousins and she spent the last year of her life with her beloved Christina Courtright of Newton.

Gina found joy in gatherings with family and friends, listening to music and rescuing abandoned cats. She was selfless and compassionate with a heart of gold and will be missed by everyone she touched.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Liturgy of Christian Burial to be offered at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Notre Dame of Mount Carmel Church, 75 Ridgedale Avenue, Cedar Knolls. Private entombment will follow. Visitation will be held on Tuesday March 2, 2021 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Par-Troy Funeral Home, 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany.

In lieu of flowers, and in honor of her lifelong love of animals, the family requests that donations in Gina’s memory be made to Popcorn Park Zoo, a humane wildlife rescue preserve at 1 Humane Way, Forked River, N.J. 08731.

Following current Covid-19 guidelines, masks and social distancing are required at both the viewing and funeral service. The family acknowledges and understands that many are still uncomfortable to attend public gatherings and will be unable to attend the visitation. We ask that you keep the family in your thoughts and prayers during this time.
