Irene P. (nee-Palyca) Maccagnano passed away on Friday February 12, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 78.
She was born in Ukraine and came to the United States when she was six years old. Irene lived in Newark and Irvington before moving to Parsippany 54 years ago.
Irene was a telephone operator for NJ Bell/Verizon in Morristown for many years before retiring.
Irene was a loving mother and caring friend. She was a member of St. Christopher R.C. Church in Parsippany.
Survivors include her loving husband, Salvatore; her son, Benjamin J. and his wife, Elizabeth; her daughter, Lisa M. Hall and her husband, Michael; her siblings: John Palyca and his wife Virginia; Mary Notte and her husband, Louis; Billy Palyca, and George Palyca and his wife, Marlene; and her two grandchildren: Andrew & Maria.
Relatives and Friends and invited to attend her Liturgy of Christian Burial to be offered at 9:30a.m. on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at St. Christopher R. C. Church, 1050 Littleton Road, Parsippany. Interment: Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4:30pm – 7:30pm at the Par-Troy Funeral Home 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany (973) 887-3235.
