Michael Brian Sharkey, age 61, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2020, at St. Clare’s Dover Hospital.

Michael was born in Newark, NJ and he lived with his family in the Varlsburg Section of Newark.

Upon graduating from Irvington Tech, he entered into an apprenticeship program at Local 68 Operating Engineers. Upon completion of his apprenticeship, he worked at St. Michael’s Hospital for the remainder of his career.

Michael moved to the Lake Hiawatha section of Parsippany in 1988.

Michael is predeceased by his parents Thomas J. Sharkey Sr. and Virginia (nee- Wilson), his sisters Virginia L. Roman and Marian Curran, and his brothers, Patrick T., John K. and James D. Sharkey.

Michael is survived by his brother Thomas J. Sharkey Jr., his sister Karen Mancusso Del Ricco and her husband John, his brother Joseph K. Sharkey, his brother-in-law Stephen J. Roman and his sister-in-laws Joanne Sharkey and Ana Sharkey.

Michael will be dearly missed by his many nieces and nephews for his sense of humor and kindness.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at Saint Mary’s Church, 15 Myers Avenue, Denville. Interment: Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Visiting hours are on Friday, December 4, 2020 from 6:00-8:00p.m. at the Par-Troy Funeral Home 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany.
