John R. Racik, age 86, of Parsippany, NJ passed away on Thursday, July 23rd 2020 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.

John was born in New York City to John and Mary (nee-Baranek) Racik and grew up on the Lower East Side. He lived in Brooklyn, NY before moving to Parsippany, NJ where he resided for over 56 years.

John met the love of his life in 1956 in Anniston, Alabama where they both stationed in the U.S. Army. They spent over 60 blissful years together.

John served in the Chemical Corps from 1956-1958. He began his career in market research and product development at Sandoz Pharmaceuticals Corp. In 1976, he joined Kallir, Philips, Ross as an Executive Vice President and Director of Marketing and Media and continued to work there for almost 20 years. He also formed his own consulting company, Karla Communications to assist pharmaceutical companies, advertising agencies and publishers in the development and marketing of products. He retired in 1995.

John loved to read and dabble in the stock market. He enjoyed watching political news and “strongly” voicing his opinions on all topics. He was most proud of his humble upbringing and his ability to work hard to provide for his children and grandchildren.

John is predeceased by his beloved wife, Patricia (nee-Surette) and his wonderful son, John Joseph Racik.

He is survived by his loving children, Marianne Morris and her husband, George, Michelle Stearns and her husband, Tom and Theresa O’Brien and her husband, Dennis; & his 6 amazing grandchildren: Sean, Morgan, Kaitlyn, Emily, J.R. and Chris; John is also survived by his sister, Marilyn Lategano and daughter-in-law, Donna Racik.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Tuesday, July 28th 2020 from 10:00-11:00am at the Par-Troy Funeral Home, 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany, NJ, with his funeral service at 11:00am. Interment with military honors will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover.
