Isabell McDowall (nee-Eadie) Koernig passed away on Monday, June 29, 2020 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina. She was 81.

Born on November 2, 1938 in Glasgow, Scotland, she emigrated to New York City via the Queen Mary on March 31, 1949. Isabell grew up in New York City and lived in Parsippany for 42 years and Mt. Arlington for another 10 before moving to Wilmington, N.C. in the Summer of 2018.

She worked as an Executive Secretary at Pan American prior to starting a family. In New Jersey, she held various positions at Fireman’s Fund Insurance and First Trenton Insurance before retiring.

Isabell was a long time volunteer for the Morristown Medical Center and enjoyed reading, needlework and gifting new babies with her beautiful crochet blankets. She was an avid traveler and loved spending time with her family both near and far.

Isabell is pre-deceased by her beloved husband of 43 years, Charles “Ray” Koernig; her dear brother and sister, George Eadie and Jennifer Eadie Guerra.
She will be dearly missed by her loving daughters: Donna Scudiere and her husband, Gino, Debra Sobierajski, and Carol Chabay and her husband, David; her dear sister, Jean Eadie Rozema, and her five cherished grandchildren: Nicholas Scudiere and his wife, Bao, Bryan Scudiere, Joanna Sobierajski, Elizabeth Chabay and Jacob Chabay as well her treasured great-grandchildren, Gino and Emma.
