Mandy L. (nee-Loch) Etienne passed away on Tuesday February 4th 2020 at the University Hospital in Newark. She was 32.
Mandy was born on May 26, 1987 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin and was raised by her parents Mary Sumnicht and John Burby. She attended school locally, graduating from Stevens Point area High School in 2005. She met her high school sweetheart (and eventual husband) Eric Etienne in 2004 through the online chat service AIM. After dating for a few years, Mandy moved to Eric’s hometown of Parsippany, New Jersey to start their lives together in a whole new world, building a promising future. She started her career at York Risk Services in 2009, working in the mail room. With her great work ethic and positive attitude, she quickly worked her way up to become a customer service representative, data analyst, and then Junior Account Manager in matter of years. With the passion and desire to continue growing, Mandy returned to school and graduated with highest honor from Passaic County Community College in 2018. From there, Mandy continued to excel and challenge herself to reach new heights in her career, eventually finding a new home working for Chubb Insurance as a Partnership Associate.
In addition to her successful career, Mandy also had a very fulfilling personal life. She was a visionary who knew exactly what she wanted for her future. Mandy enjoyed singing, reading, writing and had a love for animal, specially her “fur babies.” Her cooking and hospitality were legendary among friends, who loved her vivacious spirit and great sense of humor. She was also a fighter, persevering and staying positive through any situation she faced. Mandy was a true inspiration for Eric and those around her.
Mandy is survived by her devoted husband, Eric Etienne, her loving mother, Mary Sumnicht, her golden retriever Lily (Bug), as well as many beloved family members and dear friends.
