Barbara M. (nee-Sherknas) Theobald passed away peacefully on Friday, January 31, 2020 in her Layton, NJ home, surrounded by loved ones. She was 48 years old.

Barbara was born in Rahway and grew up Linden before moving to Layton 21 years ago.

A graduate of SUNY Empire State, Barbara was employed in the legal department of AT&T for 12 years. She spent the past 8 years as a medical billing manager for Dr. Susan Cunico in Sandyston.

Yet her most important job was that of mother to her two sons, Brandon and Kyle. Barbara could always be found on the sidelines, cheering them on during their soccer games, wrestling matches, track meets, or ski competitions. She was active with the boys’ soccer club, STA, and traveled around the state and the country to watch them play. She also served as team mom for the Kittatinny boy’s soccer team.

Barbara always had a smile on her face and kind words coming from her lips. She loved being outside with her animals, tending to her chickens and horses, or riding the trails around her house.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Matthew; her sons: Brandon Matthew and Kyle Robert; her parents, Chester and Rita (nee-McKinnon) Sherknas; and her sister, Marie Sherknas.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Liturgy of Christian Burial to be offered on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle RC Church, 210 US 206, Sandyston.
