Catherine “Cathy” Kerwin-Sim passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 26th 2020 at her home. She was 61.
Cathy was born in Newark and grew up in Parsippany where she attended high school and was a member of the Parsippany High Marching Band. She then lived in Mine Hill and Wilmington, N.C. before moving to Washington Boro in December of 2014.
Cathy graduated from Rutgers University with degrees in both English and Journalism.
She began her career as a newspaper journalist and then went on to be the Director of Development for St. Mary’s School in Wharton where she worked for many years before retiring.
She thoroughly enjoyed genealogy and was a voracious reader.
Cathy was truly one of a kind. As a loving and dedicated wife and mother, she raised her children by teaching them what love, faith and family values were all about. She had a smile that would light up any room along with a wicked sense of humor always saying laughter is the best medicine.
She leaves cherished memories to her husband, Robert W. Jr.; her children: Caitlin E. and Kevin R.; & her brothers: Patrick and James Kerwin.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Liturgy of Christian Burial to be offered at 10:30a.m. on Saturday, February 1st 2020 at St. Mary’s R.C. Church. 371 South Main Street, Wharton, NJ 07885 Cremation: Private. Visiting hours are on Friday evening from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Par-Troy Funeral Home. 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany.
