Mary Grace (nee-Pichirallo) Pallessi, 95, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2019 at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville.

Mary was born and raised in Newark, she was the daughter of the late Francesco and Modesta Pichirallo (nee-DeVincentis), and came to Parsippany over 30 years ago.

She was a cook for many years at La Trattoria in Newark before retiring. After retiring she worked part-time with her cousins at Giuliano’s Family Catering Service.

Mary was a member of the Parsippany Golden Age as well as the Belleville Seniors, where she and her companion, Charlie DeNunzio, enjoyed each other’s friendship traveling the world, dancing, and going to Atlantic City. Mary enjoyed cooking for her family, especially her fish dishes on Christmas Eve. She was also famous for stuffed artichokes, a recipe that her grandchildren, till this day, are still attempting to duplicate.

She was predeceased by her husband, Francis Paul in 1982; her six brothers and sisters: George, Frank, Michael, and Joseph Pichirallo and Antoinette Peterlin and Virginia Pichirallo; and her grandson, Anthony John.

Survivors include her sons: Anthony J. and Joseph Frank and his wife Brenda; and her two cherished grandchildren: Joseph F. Jr. and Nicholas M. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as her dear friends and neighbors.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 8:30 a.m. from the funeral home, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial to be offered at 9:30 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church, 179 Baldwin Rd., Parsippany. Interment: Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Visiting hours will be on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
