James Scott Caughy Jr., 31, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 18, 2019 at his home in Orlando, Florida.
He was born in Livingston and grew up in Whippany before moving to Florida five years ago.
James was a manager for Columbia Sportswear in Orlando.
He was an avid marathon runner, running marathons in many different cities, but his favorite races were the Disney Marathon and Running Events. James was also a fan of the New Jersey Devils, Orlando Magic, New York Yankees, and Dallas Cowboys.
Survivors include his parents, James Scott Sr. and Sarina (nee-Cortese); his sister, Sarah Caughy; his maternal grandmother, Marie Cortese; his aunts and uncles: Diane and John Mitchell, Anthony and Colleen Cortese, and Anngel Cortese; his cousins: Joseph Cortese and his fiancée Alessandra Ottiano and Michelle Delaney and her husband Michael; and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Sunday, November 24, 2019 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Par-Troy Funeral Home, 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany, 973-887-3235.
A chapel service will precede his entombment on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel, East Hanover.
