Albert W. Ferrante, 83, of Mine Hill, NJ, formerly of Parsippany, NJ
and Hudson County, NJ passed away at home on Tuesday, October 1st 2019 after a
short illness. He was surrounded by many family and
He served his country in the Army from 1954 to 1956. After leaving the
service, he tried his hand at many businesses over the years including
dog grooming, pet shop owner, truck driver, becoming a shop-steward
and foreman for that company. He moved on to become president of the
AFL-CIO – OCAW local 8406. After retiring from the union, he pursued
his dream of owning a coin shop and opened Roxbury Coin Investment
Service and with the help of his son built the business to a success.
He belonged to many clubs and organizations throughout the years
including the Italian American Club, Sons of Italy, where he was voted
outstanding member for several years, Hot Rodders Car Club, Cops and
Rodders car club. He started the Roxbury Coin Club/Show. He spent many
years coaching baseball teams for the Par-Troy West Little League.
He enjoyed going to and participating in classic car shows, traveling
and spending time in the pool.
Albert was preceded in death by his mother, Laura (Heim)
Ferrante; his father, Albert W. Ferrante; his brothers: Joseph Ferrante &
William Ferrante; and his sister, Maryann (Ferrante) Foy.
He is survived by his son, Damon Ferrante and his wife, Ronette of
Parsippany, NJ; his daughters: Nadean (Ferrante) Talamdge of East
Stroudsburg, PA, Jessica (Ferrante) Fleck of East Stroudsburg, PA,
MaryAnn Stephens and her husband, Garnett of Las Vegas, NV and Debra
Koehler and her husband, Kenneth of Florida; his 11 grandchildren:
Kenneth Koehler, Michael Dempsey, Eric Dempsey, Amanda Fleck, Megan
Talmadge, Alexis Ferrante, Ryan Talmadge, Alyssa Ferrante, Jason
Talmadge, Lauren Talmadge and Jade Fleck; he is also survived by his 13 great-
