Gaetana “Tina” M (nee-Melilli) Walecki passed away on Wednesday, July 3rd 2019 at the Karen Ann Quinlan Home for Hospice in Fredon. She was 92.
She was born and raised in Philadelphia before moving to Lake Hiawatha 59 years ago.
Tina worked for Beckman Instruments for 36 Years as an Electrical Engineer before retiring in 1990.
She was a devoted member of the Saint Peterthe Apostle R.C. Church parish, but her first calling was to make others happy by cooking wonderful food and feeding those she loved. In addition, she was a pioneer for women in technology and a Charter Member of the Society of Women Engineers.
Tina is predeceased by her husband, Vincent and her son, Anthony J.
She is survived by her daughters: Mary Pollard and her husband, Ray, Connie McIlwain, Patti McCormick and her husband, Bud, Joanne Wojcik and her husband, Steve, and her honorary daughter, Rita Mendel; Tina is also survived by her 9 grandchildren: Jane Wiedmann, Katie Carter and her husband, Shaun, Ed Wiedmann and his wife, Michelle, Jim Penrose and his wife, Suma, Dan Penrose and his wife, Andrea, B.J. McCormick and his wife, Katie, Tim McCormick, Caroline McCormick and Ceci McCormick; and her cherished 13 great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours are on Sunday from 5:00pm-8:00p.m. at the Funeral Home. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend her Funeral on Monday, July 8th 2019 at 8:15 a.m. from the Par-Troy Funeral Home. 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany.
