Dateline: Lake Hopatcong

John W. Charpentier passed away on Monday, February 4th 2019 at Saint Clare’s Hospital in Denville. He was 69 and passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones.

John was born and raised in West Caldwell, New Jersey. He lived there before moving to Laramie, Wyoming where he attended school on a football scholarship.

John enjoyed the outdoors and snowy weather and stayed in Wyoming an additional six years. He found his way back to NJ starting a family with his wife Maureen and settled with them in Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey. John spent the remainder of his days viewing the lake with a cup of coffee in his hand, a dog at his feet and his family by his side.

John was an entrepreneur owning two breakfast and lunch restaurants located in western New Jersey.

Later in life he focused on sharing his love of storytelling by writing three books and self-publishing one.

John is survived by his wife Maureen, son Michael, daughter Nicole, her husband Bryan and grandson Bryan. John has four brothers Thomas, James, Paul and Andrew and one sister Carol Lee.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Service Thursday February 7, 2019 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at the Par-Troy Funeral Home 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany (973) 887-3235.
