William R. Bright, age 88, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 25, 2019.
William was born and raised in Pittsburgh (Bloomfield section), PA before moving to Mt. Tabor, NJ 51 years ago. After graduating from Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, PA he played semi-professional baseball. He was employed as a baker for S.B. Thomas in Totowa, NJ for over 30 years before retiring in 1990. He had a love of sports and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirate, Steeler and Penguin fan. He was a devoted family man and treasured spending time with his grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents William and Edna Bright.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Eleanor H. (nee-Herman); his son, William “Bill”; his daughters: Mary Ann Gray and her husband Sean; and Ellie; and Sheila Salvemini and her husband Anthony; his brother, Edward and his wife Harriette; his sister, Anna Mary Simpson and her husband Vincent; and his 7 cherished grandchildren: William, Thomas, Julia, Patrick, Aedan, Jennifer, and Liam. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Par-Troy Funeral Home, 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany, 973-887-3235 or www.partroyfuneralhome.com. Gather at the funeral home at 8:45 AM on Saturday, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial to be offered at 10:00 AM at St. Catherine of Siena RC Church, 10 N. Pocono Rd, Mt. Lakes. Interment: Holy Rood Cemetery, Morristown.
