Obituaries » Bruce Rembert
Bruce Rembert passed away after a long illness on Friday, December 28th 2018 at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown. He was 50.
Bruce was born in Paterson on February 28th 1968 to Johnnie Mae Rembert. Bruce was Johnnie Mae’s pride and joy. She took great care of Bruce. He was always dressed impeccably from his top hat right down to his shoes.
Bruce attended Passaic Regional Day Training Center. In 2003, he moved to Chatham and later to Parsippany where he lived happily for many years receiving support from The Arc/Morris. Bruce attended the Hanover Adult Training Center in Whippany. He loved music and enjoyed the company of his friends and caregivers.
Bruce is pre-deceased by his loving and devoted mother, Johnnie Mae Rembert who passed away on July 3rd 2004. At that time, his Aunt, Lillie Latimore and his Cousin, Janette Rembert became his legal guardians and continue to care for him. Bruce was also pre-deceased by his dear uncle, Jacob Rembert who passed away on June 12th 2017.
Left to cherish his memory are his Aunts: Willien Littles, Hattie Mae Rembert, Allien Davis and Lillie Latimore; his Uncles: James, Arthur, Truman and Solomon Rembert; & his family from The Arc/Morris including his housemates: Jack, Francis, Elissa, Kelly, Jeanne and many caring staff; he is also survived by a host of relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 12 Noon on Friday, January 4th 2019 at the Par-Troy Funeral Home. 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany. Interment: East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton. Visiting hours are on Friday from 11:00 a.m. – 12 Noon at the Funeral Home.
