Michael L. Loia passed away on Sunday December 16, 2018 at the Troy Hills Center in Parsippany. He was 94.

Mike as we known, was born in Morristown to Antonio and Rose Loia.

He married Eleanor (nee-Kopacka) in 1946. They enjoyed 72 years together. He is survived by his wonderful wife: Eleanor; his two sons: Michael and his wife Kathryn of Atlanta; and Robert and his wife Christina of Morris Plains; his brothers: Anthony & John; his sister: Rosemarie Pellegrino; As well as his grandson: Michael Stephen.

Mike served in the United Sates Navy during World War II. He served as the store manager for ACME and Shoprite until for many years before retiring.

After retirement he worked for Hanover Township at Bee Meadow Pool for many years. His favorite job was being a crossing guard. He loved all the children and they loved him back. He was an honary member of the American Legion Post 155 of Whippany and the Knights of Columbus.

Service are PRIVATE and under the direction of the Par-Troy Funeral home 95 Parsippany Road, Parsippany (973) 887-3235. In lieu of flowers please make donations in his memory to , American Legion Post 155 Whippany, NJ 07981.
