Obituaries » Doris Claire (nee-Beaulieu) Tamburello

On November 18, 2018, the world lost the sweetest of souls with the passing of Doris Claire Tamburello (nee Beaulieu). An adoring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and kind friend, she will be missed by many. Doris was born on May 4, 1926 to Estelle (St. Germaine) Beaulieu and Leopold Beaulieu in Flushing, NY. She grew up in New York City, where as a teen she worked as an usherette in the theater district and later as a secretary for Fred Heinzelman & Sons Inc., where she met the love of her life, Anthony “Nino” Tamburello, Sr. Doris and Nino married on September 4, 1949 at Guardian Angel Church in NYC and celebrated 46 years of a wonderful marriage until his passing in 1995. They lived in Brooklyn, NY during the early years of their marriage and moved to Pine Brook, NJ in September 1959, where Doris resided until her passing.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Doris was predeceased by an infant son, her sweet sister, Vivienne Damaskinos, her loving brother, Leo Beaulieu, and two wonderful nephews, Thomas and John Damaskinos.

Survivors include two sons, Anthony C. Tamburello, Jr. (Moira), and Fr. Dennis Tamburello, OFM. and three daughters, Estelle L. Cibiniak (Michael), Vivian A. Tamburello (Kal), and Nanette C. She is also survived by dear nephews and nieces on both sides of the family and many, many beloved friends and neighbors.

A devout Catholic and believer in the power of prayer, Doris said the rosary daily and novenas faithfully. She was a caring, compassionate person who had a long list of people she kept in her prayers, both those close to her and people she did not know but had heard of their suffering. She was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church since its founding and was a longtime member of the Rosary Society. When her children were young, she was a loving, devoted stay- at- home mother and homemaker. Later, she went back into the work force and spent several happy years as the friendly receptionist/ switchboard operator for the Visiting Nurses Association in Morristown.
