Santiago Iglesias passed away peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018 in his home in Parsippany, New Jersey. He was born on March 16, 1932 in Manzanillo, Cuba to parents Santiago and Angelina Iglesias.
He received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY and was employed by Foster Wheeler Energy Corp for over 30 years until his retirement.
Santiago was happily married for 60 years to Carmen Magali Guitian and together they raised six children. He is survived by his wife Carmen, six children and 10 grandchildren:
Santiago Javier (Jimmy), Parsippany, NJ; Ricardo, Asbury, NJ (wife Anna and daughters Emma and Chloe); Arleen, Westlake Village, CA (husband Mark and daughters, Emily of Seattle, WA, Sarah of Boston, MA, Hannah of Los Angeles); Charles, North Andover, MA (wife Bethanne and daughters, Ashley and Brianna and son Benjamin); Carolyn, Yardley, PA (husband Percy, daughter Olivia and son, Alexander); Cindy, Parsippany, NJ.
Santiago is also survived by his three loving sisters, Angeles Mendez of Pompano Beach, Fl,
Consuelo Diez of Chicago, Il and Carmen Tejada of Humbligny, France, along with many nieces and nephews.
Santiago Iglesias was beloved by all who met him—intelligent, kind, with a sunny, compassionate disposition. He was a deeply devout and active member of St. Christopher’s Catholic Church in Parsippany until his death. He will be missed, but never forgotten by his family, friends and community.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Liturgy of Christian Burial to be offered at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 26, 2018 at St. Christopher R.C. Church, 1050 Littleton Rd., Parsippany. Interment: Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 225 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover. Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
