Elroy ‘Red’ J. Osenbaugh passed away at his daughter’s home in Montville on Friday, October 26, 2018. He was 89.

Elroy was born in Monroe, Michigan. He grew up in Lambertville, Michigan and lived in Cedar Knolls before moving to Myrtle Beach 29 years ago.

He worked for Bell Labs in both Whippany and Murray Hill for many years before retiring as the Supervisor of Building Trades.

Elroy was very active in the community of Cedar Knolls. He was a member of the Cedar Knolls Fire Department where he was a multiple championship fast pitch softball pitcher. He was also a member of Notre Dame of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church where he enjoyed helping build the little church. Elroy also joined the American Legion when he moved to Myrtle Beach.

Some of the things he enjoyed doing in his free time were golfing, hunting, & fishing.

Elroy joins in heaven his beloved wife, Carmella A. (nee-Salinari) who passed away in 1992; his loving daughter, Sheryl Potter who passed away in 2011 and his cherished grandson, Derek who passed away in 2008.

Survivors include his devoted daughters, Mary Lynn Devereaux, Sharon Osenbaugh and Anne Valleau and her husband, Clint; his dear brothers, Art and Bob and his wife, Sid; his cherished grandchildren and their spouses: David and Laura, Michelle and Rob, Kenneth and Sean, Matthew and Michael and Kimberly and Joseph; and his treasured 6 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Mass at 10:00a.m. on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at Notre Dame of Mt. Carmel R.C. Church. 75 Ridgedale Avenue, Cedar Knolls. Cremation: Private. In Lieu of flowers, please make donations in his memory to Saint Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center, P.O Box 159, Madison, NJ 07940.
