DATELINE: Hackettstown

Joseph Pecci, age 92, passed away on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Heath Village in Hackettstown.

He was born in Newark, grew up in East Orange and lived in Parsippany for over 30 years and in Budd Lake for 12 years before coming to Hackettstown three years ago.

Joseph proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1942-1945 until being honorably discharged.

He was a mechanic for the Parsippany-Troy Hills Water Department for many years before retiring.

Joseph loved to go to Atlantic City and Las Vegas. In his younger days, he was an avid bowler and was a member of the New Jersey State Bowling Association, and he was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, helping senior citizens in his community.

He was predeceased by his brothers: Anthony, Louis, and William; and his sisters: Marion Pecci and Catherine Belsante.

Joseph is survived by his brother, George and his wife, Janet; his sister, Gloria Johnson; his sisters-in-law: Portia and Rose; and his many dear nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Liturgy of Christian Burial to be offered on Monday, September 10, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Christopher RC Church, 1050 Littleton Rd., Parsippany. Interment: Gate of Heaven Cemetery, E. Hanover.
