Ruth B. (nee-Bartholomew) Glaser passed away on Tuesday August 28, 2018 at Cedar Crest. She was 95.
She was born and raised in Clifton. Ruth lived in Morristown, Hampton, VA, and Whippany for 53 years before moving to Cedar Crest 11 years ago.
Ruth was the Office Manager working with her husband at their family owned business, Omega Plumbing & Heating Supply in Dover for 42 years before retiring in 2005.
In the late 1960’s Ruth joined the Hanover Township Recreation Committee and was the first women to serve in the Hanover Township government. Ruth was later selected to chair the Recreation Committee. She was also a member of Rockaway River Country Club for 27 years. She is famous among family and friends for baking and sharing over 2,000 Christmas cookies every year. Ruth lived a fulfilling, happy life with Norman, her family and her many friends.
She is predeceased by loving husband Norman B. Glaser who passed away on 11/6/2006, her daughter Patricia Louise Glaser, and her siblings Agnes, Adelaide, Stephen and Arthur.
Survivors include her loving children sons: Robert James and his wife Nancy from Whippany, Donald Charles from Oakhurst; her daughter: Dr. Mary Eileen Glaser and her partner Rita Bamford from Medford, Mass; and five cherished grandchildren: Robyn Nicole & Thomas Suminski, David Allen & Sayaka Glaser, Adele Diane & Alexander Tragnitz, Frances Marie Glaser, and Leo Donald Glaser; and her great-granddaughter: Kaya Madison Glaser. She is survided by Sister-in-laws, Phyllis Glaser and Eileen Bartholomew and many nieces and nephews.
Ruth’s family would also like to thank her wonderful caregivers, Monica Carson and Maria Gimenez for their unwavering love and support.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Liturgy of Christian Burial 11:00 AM Saturday September 1, 2018 at Interfaith Chapel at Cedar Crest in Pompton Plains. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover is private. Visitation is on Saturday from 10:00AM – 11:00AM at Interfaith Chapel at Cedar Crest, Pompton Plains, NJ. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cedar Crest Resident Life Fund or the Charity of your choice.
